Founded in 1996, CIMA Energy has grown from a fee-based producer marketing business into a premier North American energy marketer and trusted Mitsubishi Corporation subsidiary. Headquartered in Houston with offices across five major market regions, CIMA markets over 5 Bcf of natural gas per day alongside crude oil and NGL operations. Our 125+ person team combines deep industry expertise with disciplined service, positioning CIMA as a right-sized, reliable partner for producers and consumers across North America.

1996 CIMA Energy begins operations as a fee-based producer marketing business, recording an initial trading volume of 0.014 Bcf per day.

2000 CIMA expands its footprint across North America, opening multiple regional trading and sales offices to serve a growing network of producers and end users. 2000
2008 Mitsubishi Corporation acquires a minority share in CIMA, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership that enhances growth, stability, and market reach.

2010 The shale revolution transforms North American energy markets, creating new opportunities for expansion and positioning CIMA for significant growth. 2010
2016 Mitsubishi Corporation acquires full ownership of CIMA Energy, strengthening our financial foundation and aligning global expertise with local market focus.

2019 CIMA start Cameron LNG feedgas procurement services, expanding our presence in the liquefied natural gas market and supporting global energy demand. 2019
