Headquartered in Houston with offices across five major market regions, CIMA markets over 5 Bcf of natural gas per day alongside crude oil and NGL operations. Our person team combines deep industry expertise with disciplined service, positioning CIMA as a right-sized, reliable partner for producers and consumers across North America.

Sets the company’s strategic vision and direction, leads the executive team, and represents CIMA publicly and with the board of directors. Under this leadership, CIMA has grown into one of North America’s top energy marketing firms, recognized for integrity, reliability, and performance.
Thomas K. Edwards
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
A founding member of CIMA Energy, responsible for all financial activity and controls related to trading and risk management. Played a key role in establishing the company’s financial and operational infrastructure and ensuring long-term fiscal strength.
Michael D. Rupe
Executive Vice President, CFO, and Co-Founder
Seconded from Mitsubishi Corporation with over 25 years of energy industry experience. Responsible for formulating CIMA’s corporate strategy and aligning it with Mitsubishi Corporation’s broader North American energy business to expand the company’s operational footprint.
Yash Ogitani
Chief Strategy Officer
Brings over four decades of experience in the energy sector and has led CIMA’s natural gas trading and marketing operations since 2005. Oversees key U.S. markets including the Gulf Coast, Texas, Southeast, Midwest, and Northeast, as well as the company’s Gas Logistics and Operations group.
Steve Husband
Sr. Vice President Trading & Marketing - East Division
An energy executive with more than 30 years of experience in natural gas, crude oil, NGL, and energy marketing and trading. Leads business development, origination, and trading across the Western U.S. and Canada, and has been instrumental in expanding CIMA’s regional presence since joining in 2004.
Matt Miller
Sr. Vice President - West Division
Leads a team of natural gas traders responsible for commercial activity across the Gulf Coast and Eastern U.S. markets. Oversees trading strategy, gross margin performance, and risk exposure, while actively contributing to origination and business development initiatives.
John Codrington
Sr. Vice President Gas Trading - Gulf Coast
Leads the Rockies team’s trading strategy and execution. Since joining CIMA Energy in 2011, has built a strong reputation for bridging operational knowledge with commercial innovation across Western U.S. natural gas markets.
Michael Pannier
Sr. Vice President Natural Gas Trading - Western Division
Brings more than 15 years of energy sector experience and leads CIMA’s financial derivatives trading, market analytics, and logistics operations. Since joining the company in 2017, has strengthened its analytical capabilities and expanded its presence in financial energy markets.
